Our hunters stay in a comfortable base camp from where we set out on horseback into the mountains for the elk hunt. The September archery hunts are especially exciting with bulls bugling and responding to calls, or in hot weather strategically positioning near water tanks can be successful.
During archery hunts, we maintain a guide-to-client ratio of 1:2, with an option for 1:1 for an additional $1,500. The rifle elk hunts take place from late October to November, with a 1:2 guide-to-hunter ratio. We are in a general draw area, with an either sex tag while bulls must have a minimum of 4 points on each side. Additionally, hunters can purchase an over-the-counter cow tag before the hunt if wanted. For those seeking a more relaxed experience without aiming for antlers, we offer rifle cow hunts on private land from August 15-30 and intermittently post the regular rifle season. These cow elk hunts are more laid back, especially in August when snowfall is minimal compared to later months.
All our hunts run from Monday to Friday, with hunters arriving the day prior and departing the morning after their trip. Prices are set at $6,000 for a standard either-sex elk hunt, for both archery and rifle. A guided one-on-one experience is available on all hunts for an extra $1,500. The cow hunts are also over 5 days and priced at $3,000.
Our archery elk hunts take place in the beauty of the Bridger mountains during the elk rut. Carefully timed over 3 weeks in September, our archery hunts coincide with peak elk activity. We have a dedicated guide and wrangler for every two clients. The guide skillfully calls the elk, while the wrangler follows with the horses.
Our day starts with breakfast, followed by a horseback ride up the mountain for a daylight hunt. Midday is a great time for a nap or an opportunity to perch near water holes, anticipating the arrival of elk seeking a midday drink. Evenings usually heat up again with lively calls and bugling, culminating in a return to camp for a good meal and a relaxing night's sleep.
We often cover 10 miles or more daily as we traverse various terrains on both foot and horseback. With no motorized vehicles permitted, the wrangler proves helpful for the journey back to the horses. If game is harvested, it is promptly quartered and transported to camp for immediate icing. Clients have the option to engage a local butcher for meat processing.
Our archery hunts are priced at $6,000 per hunter, and include meals, lodging, transportation during the hunt, and game transport to the butcher or back to your vehicle. One-on-one guided hunts are available for an extra $1,500. Taxidermy, processing, license and gratuity are not included. Gratuity (recommended 10%) is shared between the staff. All our hunts are fair chase and success is never guaranteed.
